The Art of Dubbing (2ª série do Ensino Médio)
“I enjoyed the experience of dubbing very much because it was fun deciding what snippet to use and speaking with a different tone of voice to match the videos. It also put a lot in perspective, as it made me realize that those who dub for a living are really talented and hard-working since the process is rather hard to do. All in all, it was a pleasant task.” – Lívia S.
“It is not easy to dub a snippet. We needed to translate and dub the scene. Dubbing is very difficult because the timing of voices and the performance must be excellent to do a good job. What I liked was the fact that I discovered how hard dubbing is, and who does that is a great actor. I was disappointed by the fact I’m not a good actor for dubbing but, overall, it was such an amazing experience.” – Rafael M.
“The experience of dubbing was very interesting. None of us are professionals but we handled it very well. It took a lot of time to record and synchronize the lines and the video wasn’t good quality. After all, it was a nice experience and I would definitely do it again.” – Pedro Vieira de C.
“It´s not easy to dub. You have to actually act and feel what they are feeling. Also, you have to try to fit what they say in the scene and it’s surprisingly difficult. It was a great experience though. I liked it. It’s different from what we usually do and it´s important to get off our comfort zone.” – Mariana J.
“I had never dubbed before, it was a nice new experience. I was disappointed with myself because I realize I’m not very talented when it comes to dubbing. I was pleasantly surprised by the other groups’ presentations as they were all amazing. If you get the chance to dub, you should do it.” – Maria Antônia A.
“To conclude, the process was interesting and, personally saying, it was a great experience for my acting skills. Even having some problems with recording sound, we did it well and with whim. Capitu’s miniseries is an exhilarating piece of art and I loved this Reelaboração Temática.” – Manoela C.
“What I liked most was the acting of the three characters. It was fantastic. As they talk very fast, dubbing this video was a bit difficult. It was also amazing and an excellent experience because I love acting.” – Júlia F.
“Personally, I enjoyed doing dubbing work very much, especially with such a great scene from a great TV show. I also think it was very important for the speaking development, it helped a lot.” – Pedro Faria F.
“I really liked dubbing but I hope I never do that again. I mean, it was really funny to dub famous actors but when you have to edit, it is so hard. I wasn’t able to manage the software of audio, so thank God I had my friends to help me. To my view, everyone should try dubbing one day, though.” – Amanda R.
“The whole experience of dubbing was really fun, especially because we did it voice-over style, so we laughed sometimes. We could see how difficult it is to dub three minutes, then, we imagined how hard it is to dub a whole movie.” – Ian B.
“To sum up, it was a new, challenging, fun experience, which was also a bit stressful but that surprised me in a good way. I would definitely do it again!” – Charlotte T.
“In my point of view, the experience of dubbing was a great opportunity to try a new way of doing a project. We had to work hard to translate, record and adjust the voices to the scene, but it is always great when we can leave the everyday school reality and just work on something that we are going to remember for the rest of our lives.” – Amanda B.
“I believe that dubbing is difficult work because you need to fit your voice in a space that sometimes can’t fit at all, but what I thought it was even harder was to edit, to put the voice over the video. To sum up, besides all the work and difficulties, it was a very nice project to do, it made me learn somethings about editing.” – Gabriela R.
